From Ippodo Tea Co. — Kyoto’s historic tea house since 1717. Wakaki-shiro is Ippodo’s lightest everyday matcha — crisp, refreshing, and gently astringent with a hint of sweetness. The perfect morning matcha or afternoon pick-me-up, light enough to enjoy several times a day without feeling heavy.

Named by Zabosai Sosho XVI, grand master of the Ura-Senke school of tea ceremony.

Best for: Daily matcha, matcha lattes, iced matcha, smoothies, baked goods.

Preparation: 2g powder + 60ml water at 80°C, whisk for 15 seconds.
